🇬🇭 BEMPU in Ghana

Peer-Reviewed Clinical Validation at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

Clinical Research Hub for TempWatch in Africa

Ghana has become one of the most important clinical validation sites for BEMPU TempWatch in sub-Saharan Africa. A series of peer-reviewed studies conducted at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, in partnership with UNICEF Ghana and the University of South Carolina, have rigorously evaluated TempWatch's accuracy, safety, and acceptability.

One landmark study identified hypothermia in 86% of newborns studied — a shocking prevalence that underscores the scale of the problem and the critical need for continuous monitoring tools.

86% Hypothermia Prevalence

Research in Ghana found that the majority of low birth weight newborns experienced at least one episode of hypothermia — often undetected without continuous monitoring. TempWatch's ability to alert staff and parents in real time makes it a powerful tool in this high-prevalence environment.
