Overview

BEMPU has been working with Calmette Hospital — Cambodia's flagship public referral hospital in Phnom Penh, jointly supported by the Cambodian and French governments — to keep Kangaroo Mother Care slings available for premature and low-birth-weight newborns.

Calmette Hospital's maternity and neonatal intensive care unit cares for some of Cambodia's most vulnerable newborns. The KangaSling supports both mothers and fathers in providing secure, sustained skin-to-skin contact — a practice proven to improve survival and weight gain in small and premature babies.
